Job vacancy Senior Control System Engineer - Perth Based

Randstad is currently seeking an experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer for an exciting opportunity to join our client in the Mining sector. This role is being offered either as a long term contract or permanent role depending on candidate preference and requires regular site travel.

The Senior Control Systems Engineer will be responsible for providing specialist support service to an assortment of clients across the mining and oil/gas industries.

Other primary responbilities of the role will include:

• Offering assistance in design/development of current projects
• Mentoring younger engineers in the development of their professional skills within the Control/Automatin space
• Ensuring specifications are meeting project requirements and operational needs and adhere to all necessary regulatory requirements
• Site based support and commission as required
• PLC design and development
• SCADA design and development
• Specification and test documentation
• FAT and SAT testing as required

Key Requirements of the role:

• Sound knowledge of protection configuration of protection relays (Siprotec 4, Siprotec 5, Reyrolle relays) and other third-party relays
• Onsite commissioning experience
• 5+ years of experience in the mining or oil/gas sectors
• In-depth knowledge of proramming languages (C, Visual Basic, STL, SCL, CFC)
• PLC design and development
• Design and implentation skills with PLC platforms (Siemens, Schneider Electric, Emerson etc)
• High Proficiency in the use of primary and secondary test equipment
• Ability to write Specifications and Philosophy documents of projects to satisfy customer requirements.
• Strong safety focus
• High level of computer literacy
• Fluent in written and spoken English Language
