Metung Fun Run - Melbourne

Yearly, Metung Fun Run invites Metung business owners and residents of all ages to experience the fun of running for a cause. Running to give happiness. They have helpful sponsors that help to contribute to the Metung Primary School’s facilities, a small school but, it has a long standing history in the community in helping to educate local children. They also help to make the community and children to be strong now and into the future. Metung Primary and the families who have children attending thank these wonderful businesses for their contributions. And now, they will raise funds with the Lions club to run and maintain their recently purchased Community Bus.

Turn down Kurnia Ave and run to Beach Rd, follow beach road all the way to the end until you reach Beaches Marina then loop back and continue back down Beach Rd returning to finish on Kurnia Ave near big tree adjacent to Metung Hotel. Turn down Kurnia Ave and run to Beach Rd, follow beach road all the way to the end, then run up Pedestrian Path past beaches marina “Sharp Climb” to the spectacular Kings Cove estate. Turn left and head west along Storth Ryes Ave, turn left into Plateau Loop come out then head down Kings Cove Blvd, turn right into The Terrace and loop back onto Kings Cove Blvd until you reach the Beach Rd Access Track continue along Beach Rd and return to finish on Kurnai Ave near big tree adjacent to Metung Hotel. Race day aerobics warm up will be held on the Metung green by Adam Evans. They have training programs for 5km/10km event provided by Ben Wisbey, a coach and sports scientist for FitSense Australia and Endurance Sports Training.

Metung Fun Run has ample parking around Metung Yacht Club. Aid Stations there is water stations at the halfway mark, turn around points, and finish. St John Ambulance officers will be in attendance at the finish. Facilities like toilets are available at Metung Yacht Club, Shaving Point and Beach road near the pier. Please note: any items left are done so at the owner’s risk. Metung Fun Run has Family Fun and Entertainment there is live music, entertainment, face painting and jumping castle. Sausage sizzle, hot chocolate & tea/coffee will be available after the event. For those participating in the timed races there will be prizes awarded for the categories.
